Overview

Verathon® is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our global Human Resources team. This full-time, onsite role is based in Burnaby, BC, supporting two critical company locations that include R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations functions.

 

As a Senior HRBP, you will interface with professionals across all levels and functions. You must bring excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment.

 

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned HR professional passionate about driving organizational success and enabling people strategies that support business goals. You will report to the Director of Human Resources based in the United States.

Responsibilities

Regional Business Partner

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Canadian HR practices, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, benefits regulations, and market trends.
  •  Operate autonomously as the regional HR lead while collaborating effectively with the global HR team.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across multiple functions with teams in Burnaby.
  • Act as a values-driven thought leader who understands what makes high-performing teams successful.
  • Provide expert guidance on organizational scaling, talent management, performance management, employee relations, compensation planning, and employee engagement.

Global HR Team Member

  • Partner with HRBP team to support business groups through a matrixed environment.
  • Drive annual people processes including annual performance reviews, promotions, and engagement survey action planning.
  • Ensure appropriate HR shared services partners such as HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development are updated on business issues.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle tasks in coordination with the HR Ops Team.
  • Execute routine HR generalist tasks as needed.
  • Lead and drive internal investigations, in an unbiased approach, identifying risk, and proposing countermeasures.

 

Manager & Employee Support

  • Advise leaders and employees to navigate employee relations topics.
  • Analyze metrics and trends to show the health of the organization as it relates to quality of hires, promotions, performance, attrition, and diversity.
  • Manage HR initiatives from inception to completion, and plan for sustainment.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers regarding general HR queries (e.g., policy clarifications, documentation, process timelines).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related fieldTypically requires a minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience in a high growth organization.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian employment law, legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience proactively navigating immigration matters.
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytic capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence the organization at multiple levels and act as a resource for employees.
  • Experience working in a matrix global human resources team is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess leadership capability.
  • A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
  • Able to work core business hours in the office.
  • Ability to travel without restriction to the Verathon headquarters located in Bothell, Washington at least once per month if not more.

Salary range - $94,500 - $134,000  (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).

 

Full-time employees who are not on a commission plan are eligible for Verathon’s annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
