Overview

Test Engineer II - Verathon®

Verathon® is looking for a Test Engineer II to become the newest member of our RSS R&D Team located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Test Engineer is responsible for supporting new product development (NPD) programs by delivering product design verification (DV). This role closely interacts with other cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced Test Engineers with completing DV activities for NPD programs.
  • Manage and deliver DV for shelf-life testing of single-use products.
  • Generate DV plans, protocols, and reports against product requirements.
  • Design, build, and release engineering test methods and test fixtures to verify requirements.
  • Design, build, and release automated test equipment to increase testing efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Test Supervisor, oversee test execution by a team of Design Verification Testers
  • Collaborate with design engineers and cross-functional teams to analyze product test failures and recommend solutions.
  • Perform statistical analysis on test data to verify desired confidence and performance levels.
  • Gain familiarity with applicable standards, e.g., ISO 10993, ISO 8600, and CSA IEC 60601-1
  • Identify, communicate, and initiate improvements to the verification test system.
  • Ensure completion of tasks within project schedule with high attention to detail
  • Follow Verathon’s Quality Management System and documentation practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, mechatronics, or similar)
  • Typically requires minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience in a product development environment.
  • Strong analytical foundation suited for problem-solving in an engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks to design test fixtures and equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g. Arduino) to develop automated test equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write concisely and accurately with meticulous attention to detail and clarity.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines with transparent communication.
  • EIT from the EGBC preferred; ability and willingness to obtain a EIT license required * 

 

* For applicants without an Engineer in Training or a Professional Engineer license, an alternative title will be used until a license is obtained.     • Salary range - $66,040 - $93,742 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
