Overview

The Test Supervisor provides support to the program teams to complete new product development design verification by coordinating test execution of a team of testers. This role includes test planning, scheduling, and prioritization through frequent collaboration with Test Engineers and Design Engineering. Testing Orders are mainly from Test Engineers within the Verification team and occasionally from software engineers or other design team colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of design verification testers to perform product verification, system software verification, chemical compatibility testing, and other related tasks
  • Receives Test Orders and plans execution schedules for testers to maximize the utilization of test team capacity
  • Acts as an entry point of all test requests to the design verification test team
  • Assigns testers according to their availability and skills
  • Plans & schedules test activities to meet program deadlines through flexible arrangement of test resources
  • Prepares test forms based on test plans and test protocols from Test Engineers
  • Reviews completed test forms before forwarding to Test Engineers or Test Order requestors
  • Uses JAMA software for entries of test case verdicts
  • Actively engages in solving scheduling conflicts for test execution tasks with stakeholders
  • Maintains supporting test device inventory, such as monitors, cables & others
  • Assists with scheduling test equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and removes obstacles to enable design verification team to operate efficiently and reach their full potential
  • Support VMCA’s Quality Management System that establishes and maintains effective quality assurance processes and compliance to the International Standard: ISO13485, Canadian Medical Device Regulations (CMDR, SOR 98-292), FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR, 21 CFR Part 820) and the Medical Device Directive (MDD93/42/EEC).

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in engineering or other technology program. 
  • 5+ years’ experience, 2+ years managing a team for production, lab, or test department. 
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge with supervisory experience in test or compliance areas
  • Proven ability to resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Capable of leading and developing a group of design verification testers in a highly regulated industry
  • Experience in medical device industry is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

 

Salary range - $62,000 - $98,000  (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).

 

Full-time employees who are not on a commission plan are eligible for Verathon’s annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
