Overview

Electrical Engineer II is responsible for contributing to product development programs as an electrical design engineer. 

Responsibilities

• Assist more senior engineers in electrical circuits design and performs circuit analyses 
• Prepare digital and analog electrical circuit design documentation according to the industry standards and Verathon procedures
• Design and build test fixtures for product validation and verification
• Use advanced engineering methods and techniques to solve technical problems
• Contribute to selection of electrical components and materials for new product development
• Conduct circuit simulations, tests prototypes, and prepares technical reports
• Support sustaining activities for current products
• Work closely with supervisor to ensure assigned tasks are completed according to the project schedule
• Participate in project planning and ensures assigned tasks are completed according to schedule
• Interact with vendors and suppliers
• Participate in staff meetings, providing feedback based on observation and experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar qualification
  • Typically minimum of 2 years of experience 
  • EIT from the EGBC preferred; ability and willingness to obtain an EIT license required*
  • Good practical knowledge of schematic and PCB design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to contribute to complete system design with reliable and efficient solutions
  • Ability to communicate medium complexity tasks with another disciplines, such as mechanical and software
  • Previous experience in development of FPGA-based system is strongly desired
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and interested in the latest technology
  • Skilled at using various engineering lab equipment and tools, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent documentation proficiency
  • Experience in the field of medical devices is preferred

For applicants without an Engineer in Training or a Professional Engineer license, an alternative title will be used until a license is obtained.
