Overview

Lead the Software Test Engineering function through the design and development cycle for medical devices and applications. As part of our software development team, you will ensure that the quality of our products exceeds the expectations of our customers. Your expertise in automated testing of products and systems will help transform the way we develop and deliver medical devices and solutions. We are looking for test engineers who have a quality mindset, love to break software, automate testing, and who want to make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategy and implementation.
  • Design and build automated frameworks, tools, tests, and infrastructure to help drive software quality.
  • Effectively collaborate with software engineers to understand features and technical implementation.
  • Engage with marketing, program management, and business leaders to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments to drive exceptional product quality.
  • Track testing status and provide defect/bug reports.
  • Execute verification and validation tests and associated documentation that comply with medical device regulations and corporate quality management systems procedures.
  • Participate in embedded software development as the needs arise.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field)
  • Ability to translate use cases and/or technical specifications into test cases.
  • Ability to write code (C/C++, Python) for automated testing tools, services, and frameworks.
  • Ability to write code to package tests into regression test suites.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodology and tools
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, willingness to learn, and a demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and technical issues.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a EIT license required*

 

Preferred

  • SDET experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies
  • Ability to perform and track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results.
  • Capable of digging into the business needs and translating them into test plans and processes
  • Product development experience in a medical device environment specific to diagnostic imaging
  • Experience with medical devices performing real-time data acquisition.
  • Software experience with C/C++ and Linux.
  • Experience with Squish & Qt/QML
  • Experience with Static Code Analysis tools such as CodeSonar
  • Experience with Basic Web Development and TA Hooks
  • EIT from the EGBC preferred*

 

For applicants without an Engineer in Training or a Professional Engineer license, an alternative title will be used until a license is obtained.
