Overview

The R&D mechanical technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the mechanical and test laboratories and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment, such as tensile testers and 3D printers.
  • Contact service companies for repairs of equipment.
  • Maintain calibration database.
  • Place orders for consumables used in labs.
  • Keep labs tidy and optimize layout for usability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • 4 - 6 years related experience as a technician.
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to speak, read and write proficiently in English.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Proven strong organizational skills and able to work with minimal to no supervision.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly, and 25 pounds to shoulder height occasionally

    • Hourly Compensation Range - $24.13 - $33.26 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
